Croatia ferries

Ferry travel is hugely popular on the Dalmatian coast. Of course, it’s the only way to get out to the populated islands if you want to have a car when you get there. Iit’s also one of the best ways to get up and down the coast.

The fares are surprisingly reasonable. A round trip for two with an economy car on the Jadrolinija ferry Vladimir Nazor to Dugi Otok (long island) cost us a grand total of HRK 274, or roughly US$57 (EUR 38). We paid about the same amount to go a much shorter distance by ferry without a car in northern Europe.

Jadrolinija is the biggest player in Croatian ferry travel (although there are other ferry companies, numerous excursion boats, and some individual boat captains with whom you can make custom arrangements). Current fares can be found on Jadrolinija's Web site.
