Zadar to Split
The coast road between Split and Zadar offers splendid views. It has to be said that, although the scenery may not quite rival the views to the south of Split along the Makarska Riviera, the area is still definitely worth seeing. Among other things, there is boat and ferry access to the islands from points which are a good deal less busy than Zadar’s Harbor.
We visited Croatia in October. The weather was beautiful, the sky and water were intensely blue, and although there were tourists aplenty the traffic was certainly well below summer levels. It was the time of the olive harvest. We drove by picturesque scenes of local people in the olive groves bringing in their year's supply.
