For many people, the birds are Helgoland's principal draw. They've been coming to the island to view the many species and their behaviors since just after the turn of the 20th century. We are certainly not birding experts and would welcome comments here from those who are. Meanwhile, there are some excellent online sources of information. One, the Ornithologische Arbeitsgemeinschaft Helgoland e.V., or OAG, has information on Helgoland birds here.
