The absence of cars on Langeoog
means that while there is no traffic to contend with, there also are no
taxis.
Upon
arrival at the ferry dock passengers board the narrow-gauge
train for the short trip
from the harbor to the center of
town. Luggage is transferred to the train automatically.
From the station in town you walk to your hotel or vacation house, so
bringing light-weight or rolling luggage is a good idea. Some
handcarts, locally
called Bollerwagen, are available. (Generally
these are the property of the hotels.) The train ride is included in
the fare for the ferry trip from Bensersiel.
