(coming soon) | Gien | Approaching Gien, the most striking feature is its famous bridge. Louis XI was known as the “Spider King” for the web of intrigue that surrounded him. He built a château on a hill overlooking Gien in the 15th century for his daughter, Anne de Beaujeu. Also known as Anne of France, she commissioned the famous bridge of 12 arches that spans the Loire at Gien. The château now houses the International Museum of Hunting, which presents the evolution of hunting practices through paintings and sculptures. From its position above the river, it offers a commanding panoramic view of the area around Gien. ![]() |
