(coming soon) | Hôtels: --Dieppe/ Le
Tréport/ --Rouen |
Crossing the English Channel by ferry from Brighton (Newhaven) leads to Dieppe, France’s oldest seaside resort. Long a favorite Watertravel destination of the British, Dieppe is home to seafront hotels, harborside restaurants, and ancient stone architecture. On a cliff overlooking town is a 15th-century castle, today a museum with a vast collection of carved ivory. Also worth visiting are Le Tréport and Ètretat, with one of its Dover-like white cliffs weathered and eroded by the ocean waves into the likeness of an elephant, drinking. Three of the famous D-Day beaches — Gold, Sword and Juno — are also pictured here. More is coming, including Mont St. Michel. |
