By the seaside town of Courseulles-sur-Mer is the site of the Juno Beach landing, replete with WWII relics and monuments.

In the coastal Normandy town of Courseulles-sur-Mer is the site of the Juno Beach landing. It is replete with WWII relics and monuments. Various Sherman tanks are on display in the beach area, as shown below. In addition to these historical attractions, the beach itself is wide and sandy and the town offers a lot in the way of lodging, restaurants and shops. Courselles is a good place for a beach vacation (with no disrespect meant to those for whom, six decades ago, the place was certainly no picnic).
