Juno
Beach, Normandy
The town of
Courseulles-sur-Mer is
the site of the Juno Beach landing.
It
is replete with
WWII relics and monuments, including various
Sherman tanks on display in the beach area. As well as these historical
attractions, the beach itself is wide and
sandy (as opposed to stony, as is more common on the Normandy coast).
The town offers much in the way of lodging, restaurants and
shops, making Courseulles-sur-Mer a good choice for a
beach vacation.
